In this amazing book, The War with Grandpa by Robert Kimmel Smith, contains many interesting characters. The main character is Peter. He is a very intelligent boy. He is the son of a grandpa that loves him very much. It was all a very happy story until grandpa moved in. Grandpa became lonely because grandma pass away, so Peter’s family decides to let grandpa move into their house, in Peter’s room! Now that Peter has to move up to the guest room, up in the 3rd floor he is very angry. So Peter then decides to start a war with grandpa. He is trying to get his room back from grandpa because Peter thinks that grandpa stole his room when grandpa didn’t even try to. Will Peter get his room back? Will Peter successfully win this war?
Peter is one interesting character. His hope is to win the war and most of all, get his old room back without hurting anybody. It all gets hard when you know that your opponent is your own grandpa that you really love!! Peter is quite a disgusting boy too! Why? For example he brushed his teeth with his finger by putting toothpaste on his finger and using his finger as a toothbrush. That was one of the tricks that grandpa put on Peter! Can you believe that??? Also he can also be quite dumb. Starting a war because of a room was one of the dumb things he did.
What I can say about this book is that every child that reads it would not want to stop. It is such an amazing and interesting book. What is so fascinating about this book is that this book contains a lot of humor and energy, plus this book is not very challenging. But in some parts of this book you will feel bad for one character but don’t worry, there is always an interesting part after to make you feel better. Well I, personally, learned how a room can make a big change!! It caused a war!!!
I highly recommend this book to about anybody. Anybody would love this book. Even if you are a girl!! But I think the people that would really love this book are the people that like to read ridiculous books and books with a whole lot of fun. That is because this book has many funny and exciting moments that would make you laugh. Such as the part where there were fictitious words that really was supposed to be bad words. I laughed so much, I almost laughed my head off!! I am not only saying girls can read this book, boys can too!! Since Peter is a boy, you would understand it better.
This is a great book, and a great book has a great author!! Robert Kimmel Smith is an author of many other children’s books. Chocolate Fever and Jelly Belly are some of them. Get up and start reading some Robert Kimmel Smith books!
