And then he saw. He saw. He saw the Jedi’s lightsaber swing in a deadly arc. He saw his father’s empty helmet go flying. He saw his father’s body drop to its knees, as if in prayer. Boba watched in breathless horror as Jango Fett fell lifeless onto the bloody sand… This story takes place in a stormy world, Kamino. The main character, Boba Fett, the clone/son of the mercenary Jango Fett, is only ten but displays intelligence far beyond his years. An example of that is when Boba alerts the sentry of an intruder, as you will discover. Also, he is very determined and is a person that loves freedom, although he had never really experienced it. Boba had lived a normal life (for Kamino anyway)-until Jedi Knight Obi Wan Kenobi arrives on his homeworld, tracking Jango. As the Jedi tours around Tipoca City, the place where Boba and Jango live, he discovers the clone army and that Jango created. Later, he engages Jango in battle that at first seemed like impasse, but the bounty hunter narrowly escapes. As the father and son escape to Geonosis, they are tracked by Obi Wan but they escape again. On Geonosis, a battle is held in the Arena between the Jedi and the newly found Confederacy of Independent Systems, otherwise known as the Separatists. The Jedi team is on the brink of collapse- until the clone army arrives. Jango was slain in the battle and Boba flees back to Kamino. He picks up his few belongings and the bits of his father’s armor that he found among the dead at the Geonosian Arena. One of his important possessions is a ‘book-like’ object that his father left for him to use when he wouldn’t be around. The book tells Boba to go to Coruscant to find the man who hired Jango, Count Tyranus so Boba will be able to access his father’s account. It turns out however, that the Count is on Raxus Prime, another planet and Boba gets taken to him by another bounty hunter, Aurra Sing. The story ends when Boba is in Tyranus’ care, although I have a suspicion that it’s more like captivity. The Series is continued. This is the first book in the Boba Fett series by Terry Bisson and others (There was a group of writers in this Series). I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. The fact that this book doesn’t have an ending doesn’t deter me. In fact, it only compels me to continue. I like how this story is related to Attack of the Clones, the 2nd movie in the Star Wars saga. Only in this story, Attack of the Clones is just the background. It’s very interesting to see some thing out of different perspectives. I highly recommend this book to anybody that wishes for an adventure because they can find it in this thrilling book. If you like the Star Wars movies or other novels, you might enjoy this book. This book is spectacular. You might think that the prose is a bit simple but I think that it’s still very interesting. Many great foods are made by everyday ingredients if you know what I mean. Also, it is very thought provoking. If someday you read this book and enjoy it, feel free to explore the rest of the Series.
