The Flight of The Hawk

“Let go of my grandfather!” Andy shouted as Andy’s grandfather struggled to escape the two robbers in his laboratory.

The main character is Andy, whose parents were killed by a hit and run driver while they were on their morning walk, on the sidewalk. Andy has been described as smart in the book, for all the clever ways he made choices of living with his grandfather, and I think he had made the right decision.

Andy’s parents were killed by a hit and run driver. After getting the feeling of mourning and sadness, he has a great decision to make. Either to live with his grandfather, a great, smart, and famous inventor, or to not live with him and probably be adopted by another family. After the hard choice, he meets up with his grandfather in the giant mansion, which his grandfather uses as a laboratory. As he stays there, he finds out that his grandfather has invented a lot during his life time. Andy can’t wait to have an adventure with one of the inventions. And I promise. He will...

I would recommend this book to some people who like realistic adventure. Plus some people who likes stories when some unusual things happen, though some people may not like it. I would say it’s a boy’s book. But some girls might like it.

My favorite part of the book was when Andy got into a fight with Townsend’s minions because that was what helped the story go smoothly, and it was very interesting to read about. I can’t tell you any more or I’m going to spoil the action.

I would like to read some other Gary Paulsen books I recommend:
Captive
Danger on Midnight River
Escape from Fire Mountain
Mr.Tucket
Tucket’s Ride
Tucket’s Gold
The River
Lawn Boy
The Glass Café
