Archer's Quest by Linda Sue Park
Submitted by Phillip Ku My juicy quote is “Such a world,”Archie said. “I have been looking forward to tame Dragons.” “And how do you Know that these Dragon carts are not controlled by the evil ones?”
This book is titled Archer’s Quest by Linda Su Park. This book is about a Korean king that came from 55 B.C. and one day he came to a time where they have guns and airplanes, not arrows, swords, or even kingdoms. He found him- self in the living room where a small boy called Kevin lived. Kevin is surprised that the king is not wearing and T-shirts or jeans. When the king told Kevin his life; Kevin was very surprised came from a imperial family in the past. to wait for a second. He went to find the book of He told the king Korean history and findes that he is the king to that found the Koguryo Kingdom in 37 B.C. When Kevin knew the full story, he tried to help the king to get back to his time before the evil power takes over his Kingdom. The king asked Kevin to send him back to his time and save his people, is to find the tiger spirit to take him through time. When they were looking for the answer, 5 soldiers of the evil king is looking for them. Before they get back to the time and start a Revolutionary war and overthrow the evil king. One day, Dr. Lee, the great professor, asked what is Kevin thinking every day. When Kevin told Dr. Lee about the mysterious king, Said something and the king disappeared in a flash of light.
I think this is a good book because a good book will pull people into to it and have good visualization and connections. I recommend this book to 9-12 years old kids because some words are hard to understand. It is really a good book to read and do a project with.
An exciting part is when the king pointed the tip of the arrow at little Kevin and told him to stand up and put his pencil down. I think that this book should have a Newbery Medal because of the great adventures. A connection of another book I read a book Goosebumps because a dead boy from 23B.C came to the time with guns. The same part is that someone came from the past. Linda Sue Park lived in Washington D.C with her family. She is the Newbery Medal Winning author of the book A Single Shard.
